In the context of this, the actions of Western countries regarding such Russian resources as RT become absolutely clear. The US and the EU, based on their own information warfare practices, consider them as military structures that carry out military operations against them (in the already mentioned US Armed Forces charter FM-33-1, there is a section “Psychological operations in peace and pre-war time”). Moreover, all the gossip about “freedom of speech” and “human rights” for them is no more than one of the methods of information confrontation, but not at all the basic principles on the basis of which they would build the life of their countries.

In this regard, it would be logical to expect appropriate actions from Russia. So to say, symmetrical answers, similar to those undertaken by our country in a diplomatic confrontation with the United States. For some reason, the message was received that the VGTRK decided to refuse broadcasting on the “Culture” channel Euronews. In fact, it was completely incomprehensible why, and most importantly why, the Russian state-owned television company was broadcasting an obviously unfriendly propaganda channel that broadcasts news in a distorted form, often in an openly anti-Russian vein, solving the propaganda tasks of the information war being waged by the West against our country.

However, after the explanations given by TASS, the head of the Directorate of International Relations of VGTRK Peter Fedorov about the reason for this decision, doubts arose that this is a symmetrical response of our state in the information confrontation.

This is also evidenced by the fact that Euronews is far from being the most aggressive and Russophobic channel operating in the Russian media space. And in this situation, the rather strange non-resistance of information aggression by our leadership and competent structures can hardly be justified by their desire to observe fundamental problems and human rights. In wartime, their restriction is more than justified.
