Specifications Meizu M3 S. Review: meizu m3s mini is too cool a smartphone for its price Processor and RAM

The smartphone in my hands was ordered on AliExpress and came straight from China. Then the seller offered a white Meizu M3s mini with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent memory for eight with a penny of thousands of rubles. The phone firmware is Chinese, but there is Russian. Simply put, there were no problems using this version of the smartphone.

At the time of writing the review, the same seller was offering a white Meizu M3s mini with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage already with international firmware and at a price of 7 620 rubles. A black smartphone cost 7,957 rubles, a gold one - 8,221 rubles. There was no pink for sale yet.

The cost of the older Meizu M3s mini model with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of permanent memory was 10 097 rubles for the black version and 10 493 rubles for white or gold. There was no pink either.

In the official Russian online store MyMeizu.ru, white and black M3s mini cost the same, namely 11,990 rubles for a 2/16 GB model and 13,990 rubles for a 3/32 GB model. Gold and pink options were absent.

Why such an overpayment in the official Russian store? Firstly, for saving time. When choosing free shipping on AliExpress, you need to be mentally prepared for the monthly waiting for the parcel. Buyers in Russia will have to wait much less.

Secondly, Meizu has no international warranty. Buying a device designed for the domestic market of China, you are left without any consumer rights and will solve any problems arising with your smartphone yourself. When you buy in an official Russian store, you get a guarantee and service.

I will not detail every detail of the tested device. You can read long tedious reviews with a bunch of information that is useless for the average user on other sites, but here's the thing.

Design and execution

M3s mini is the only current Meizu metal smartphone with a 5-inch screen. It is followed by the recently tested Lifehacker music fan of ten-core flagship with a diagonal of 5.2 inches.

All other Meizu models, including the M3 Note, Pro 5, MX5 and the recently announced MX6, are equipped with a screen with a diagonal of 5.5 inches or more, that is, they are phablets with quite impressive sizes and not everyone likes.

By a good tradition, Meizu engineers made an aluminum case incredibly similar to the iPhone for the M3s mini.

From an aesthetic point of view, there is no fault with execution. The mass of the smartphone is only 138 grams with a thickness of 8.3 mm. Neat, sophisticated lines with rounded corners look great. If you like the design of the iPhone, then Meizu's look will also be to your taste.

From a technical point of view, there are no complaints about the M3s mini case either. Not only that Meizu engineers chained this budget in metal, so they have not cheated yet and precisely fitted the parts. Surprisingly, the super-cheap M3s mini is built just as well as the flagship Pro 6.

For the sake of cost reduction, the aluminum corners of the case and sophisticated caps that hide the antennas went under the knife. The upper and lower parts of the rear panel of the M3s mini are made of plastic.

The photo shows that it is rather difficult to distinguish plastic elements from metal. The colors are identical, the difference in texture is not felt even when touched, and only brilliant decorative undercuts give the place for the transition of metal into plastic.

On the front panel is the only mechanical button, which is also a fingerprint scanner mTouch 2.1. Touching the button is equivalent to the “Back” action, and pressing returns the user to the home screen or duplicates the power button when the display is off.

The front location of the scanner, of course, is more convenient if you often turn to a smartphone lying on the table. The scanner accepts the print at any angle and works in a split second.

The power button and volume rocker are located on the right. If you do not press them, but only touch them a little, a tiny backlash will be noticeable. In general, there are no complaints about the buttons.

On the left is a hybrid slot for two nanoSIM cards, one of which can be replaced with a microSD card with a capacity of up to 128 GB inclusive.

An external speaker, microphone and microUSB port are located below.

The only thing that designers and engineers of Meizu M3s mini screwed up is the position of the headphone jack.

Well, why do it on top? After all, we send the smartphone into the pocket precisely with the upper part forward. With this arrangement of the socket, there is an additional mechanical load on the plug and wire, which means inevitable kinks and premature failure.

Another disadvantage common to all Meizu smartphones is the lack of water protection. It’s time to catch up with Samsung and release equipment that meets at least the IP67 standard, and preferably IP68 right away.

Screen

Meizu M3s mini is equipped with a 5-inch IPS HD display with a resolution of 1,280 × 720 pixels.

If it seems to you that the lack of Full HD in 2016 cannot be forgiven even for a budget smartphone, then just look at the ppi value, which is 296 pixels per inch. Jobs said that at 300 ppi pixels already, and it is unlikely that a shortage of 4 ppi greatly affected the picture quality. At least my eyes could not detect the pixels on the screen of the M3s mini.

Using IPS gives the color accuracy characteristic of this type of display without wild, unnatural shades and white distortion. It is clear that counting on a top-end matrix in a smartphone for 8 thousand would be naive, but the picture looks acceptable even with a strong tilt of the screen, the colors are only slightly distorted towards yellow and purple.

The presence of anti-reflective coating allows you to comfortably work with your smartphone in the bright summer sun, and the use of the now fashionable 2.5D glass adds even more streamline to the case.

I never found information about the type of protective glass used in the M3s mini. But it definitely is, and good, because in two weeks of active use of the smartphone, not a single scratch appeared on the screen.

Filling

Inside the M3s mini is the eight-core MTK MT6750 (four 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and four 1 GHz Cortex-A53) and Mali-T860 graphics. MediaTek chips are not very suitable for heavy three-dimensional games, but they are excellent in terms of speed and smoothness of the system, especially when a less resource-intensive HD display is installed instead of Full HD.

In combination with even 2 GB of fast LPDDR3 RAM, the smartphone shows impressive results both in synthetics and at the level of sensations when working directly with the device.

The system flies, applications fly. No friezes, no slowdowns.

I did not have the opportunity to look at the older model with 3 GB of RAM, but it is logical to assume that the increased amount of memory will manifest itself while working and switching between several weighty applications. However, the younger M3s mini copes well with everyday scenarios.

The presence of a slot for a memory card actually makes any discussion of the size of the built-in storage meaningless, and therefore you need to choose between the older and younger models M3s mini only based on the number and resource consumption of the applications used.

Unfortunately, Meizu M3s mini does not have NFC, but there is support for all other relevant types of communication, including 5 GHz Wi-Fi, 4G and Bluetooth 4.0.

  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a / b / g / n / ac.
  • 2G GSM / GPRS / EDGE (900/1 800/1 900 MHz).
  • 3G WCDMA / HSPA + (900/2 100 MHz).
  • 4G FDD-LTE (1 800/2 100/2 600 MHz).
  • 3G TD-SCDMA.
  • 4G TD-LTE.
  • Bluetooth 4.0, support BLE.
  • GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS.

Cameras

Obviously, no outstanding sensors can be expected in such a cheap smartphone. But those that are provide an acceptable quality of shooting in automatic mode under favorable conditions. And the lack of light can be compensated for by manual mode, HDR and Meizu's proprietary circular two-color flash. Thanks to the powerful filling, the cameras work very quickly.

The main camera here is exactly the same as in the Meizu M3 Note: 13 megapixels, f / 2.2, a powerful flash, there is a PDAF. You can evaluate the quality of the photo yourself.

The front 5-megapixel camera with f / 2.0 aperture and software-enhanced image capture gives you wonderful selfies and writes Full HD video.

System

M3s mini runs on Android 5.1, on top of which the proprietary Meizu Flyme 5.1 shell is installed.

Flyme almost completely changes the default Android interface, but you get used to it quickly enough.

There is no unnecessary software in Flyme, only the most necessary pre-installed applications and a utility for optimizing and maintaining the system in good condition. With its help, you can run a comprehensive diagnosis of a smartphone in one tap, clean up your memory, debug power consumption, check for viruses, and so on.

At the beginning of the review, I talked about only one system button on the front panel, which takes on the functions of “Back” and “Home”. Are you curious how, in this case, the application manager is called? To do this, just swipe up from the bottom of the screen. Why didn’t Google think of this?

Flyme is perfectly optimized, and in combination with a powerful filling, an extremely fast system is obtained, which is pleasant to use.

Battery

The M3s mini has a non-removable battery with a capacity of 3,020 mAh. With moderate use, the battery lasts for two days. In more active scenarios with a visit to YouTube, Play Music, frequent browsing of the browser and social networks, the smartphone lives 18-22 hours.

The best budget employee of 2016?

I hope that when reading this review you had in mind the cost of the M3s mini, that is, everything described above can be obtained for less than 8 thousand rubles. Meizu M3s mini is a compact and beautiful aluminum smartphone with an excellent screen, a fingerprint scanner, powerful stuffing and memory expansion, all relevant types of communications, decent cameras and a streamlined system. Don't you think that Meizu M3s mini looks like the best budget employee of 2016?

As part of the review of the Meizu M3s smartphone, we will analyze in detail its technical characteristics and appearance. This is the third device in the popular line with characteristics typical for the middle price category, reasonable cost, high build quality and premium manufacturing materials.

Options Meizu M3S

The delivery set is quite simple:

  • The device itself;
  • 2A network adapter:
  • USB cable
  • Documentation;
  • A clip for removing the SIM tray.

Design

Meizu M3s full review will familiarize you with the design style of this device and the location of its management keys. The manufacturer did not come up with anything new and took advantage of existing solutions, borrowing the design from Pro 6. Once again we see sloping edges, a flat back cover, a metal case and a scanner built into a mechanical key. The main difference lies in the fact that the Pro 6 case is entirely made of metal, and here there are two plastic inserts. Many manufacturers resort to such a solution, which improves the quality of communication.

A review of the Meizu M3s phone showed that the chrome trim elements are made of plastic. It is better to wear the device in the bumper, as they quickly lose color. The front panel is covered with newfangled 2.5D glass, which provides reliable protection. The glass is durable, during the review it did not collect a single scratch. The build quality is top notch, and due to the oleophobic coating, the finger glides well on the surface and does not leave prints. Conducting a review of the Meizu M3s 32gb, we drew attention to its compact size, thanks to which it is convenient to hold in your hand. The device is assembled soundly. During use, there are no backlashes, creaks or punching to the battery.

There are several colors available for customers to choose from: dark gray, gold, pink, and silver.

In the upper part of the front panel there are light and proximity sensors that work with a long delay, a bright indicator of missed notifications, a front camera and a talking speaker covered with a metal mesh. When talking to someone you can hear clearly, the tone is pleasant, and the volume margin is large.

Conducting a review of the Meizu M3s 32gb smartphone, we noticed that under the display there is a touch-mechanical key that performs the “Back” function. At the same time, a fingerprint scanner is built into it. It works quickly and provides reliable protection of personal data. Using the fingerprint, you can block both the entire device and access to individual applications.

On the bottom there is a microphone, a microUSB port and a multimedia speaker.

The volume control swing, as well as the power key, are located on the right side. Pressing hard, slight progress.

On the left is a metal tray for accommodating two SIM cards of the nano format or one card + microSD.

In preparing the Meizu M3s 16gb gray review, we were left with a good impression of the back side design. On it is the lens of the main camera module, which does not protrude from the body. Under it is a two-color LED flash, as well as a company logo.

Display

Meizu M3s gray review will familiarize you with its display. As in the case with its predecessor, a 5.5-inch screen with FullHD resolution is used here. The matrix is \u200b\u200bbuilt on IPS technology and is characterized by the absence of an air gap. A T2X-1 safety glass is also used. Thanks to a small rounding at the edges of the screen, it not only looks more spectacular, but also improves finger sliding when working with the phone. Tactilely feel the phone in the palm of your hand is very nice. Smartphone Meizu M3s 16gb review revealed the presence of MiraVision 2.0 technology with which you can improve picture quality and optimize power consumption.

The frames around the display are minimal, and the viewing angles and color reproduction are simply gorgeous. The brightness margin is enough for comfortable use in bright sunshine. Automatic adjustment works correctly, but a little lack of smoothness. Transitions between states occur very abruptly. Separately, it is worth noting the high-quality oleophobic coating, so that prints are removed without any problems. Meizu M3s 32GB review did not reveal anything outstanding in the display settings, they are very standard. You can set the color scheme for yourself using the convenient slider.

Your rating for smartphone:

Among the manufacturers of mobile equipment, companies from China stand out who managed to become incredibly popular just a couple of years after their appearance. Such phenomena include the brands Xiaomi and Meizu. Five years ago nobody knew anything about them. And now they are among the five most famous manufacturers of smartphones. Is it not At the moment, the most promising brand is Meizu. Its smartphones amaze with unrivaled performance and low prices. Our today's hero, the Meizu M3 Mini smartphone, also belongs to the category of mid-range devices. This device looks very interesting against the background of competitors. But we will talk about its technical characteristics a bit later.

A little bit about the company

What kind of company is this - Meizu? Where did she come from? The history of this company began in 2003. A certain Jack Wong did not find a suitable MP3 player on the market and decided to develop it on his own. It so happened that the company until 2008 produced MP3 players. Without further ado, the engineers simply copied well-known models and made minor changes to them. This continued until 2008. And then Wong decided it was time to take the matter seriously. The first smartphone from Meizu worked on the Windows CE platform and was almost no different in design from the fourth iPhone. Then Apple ensured that excessively zealous copiers stopped their tricks. The release of the smartphone was canceled, but the idea did not die. They just decided to release devices on Android with minimal common features with the products of famous brands. These devices include and which we will discuss later.

The company's first device on Android was the M9, which made a real revolution in China. For the most part, the runaway success of the Nine was due to its extremely low price. The manufacturer produced the flagship per year. Company executives considered it inappropriate to "spray" on mid-range models and budget smartphones. This continued until 2014. However, the company began to sharply lose its position, even in China. Management had to reconsider their views. The result was that the company also focused on budget devices. However, most of all, people liked the models of the middle price segment. A bright representative of the gadgets of this category was the Meizu M3 Mini smartphone. Now consider this miracle of Chinese engineering in more detail.

Appearance and design

Of course, there are a lot of borrowings in the appearance of the M3, but there are also specific features that make the device unique. The main feature of this device is that it is enclosed in a fully metal case. The main material used is 7000 series aluminum, sandblasted. The presence of such a case brings the device closer to the flagships. The front panel is covered with convex tempered glass (true, from an unknown manufacturer) 2.5D. This allows the gadget to look modern. As expected, most of the front panel is occupied by the screen. Under it is a mechanical Home button with a touch insert. A fingerprint scanner is hidden under the sensor. It should be noted that the shape of this button painfully resembles that of Samsung devices. And the rest of the front panel is more like an iPhone. This is the M3 Mini. Reviews, however, do not really scold his "similarity" to other devices.

The camera module is located on the rear panel, the flash is under it. And even lower is the Meizu brand logo. There is nothing special here. It should only be noted that the back cover is very elastic and does not push through to the battery. Mechanical power and volume buttons are located as standard: on the right side of the device. It is interesting that the entire body is solidly assembled: there are no cracks, nothing creaks and does not play. People are used to the fact that Chinese crafts are rather flimsy. But not the Meizu M3 Mini. The reviews of the owners suggest that the smartphone turned out to be extremely strong. What an honor and praise to the manufacturers.

Screen

The new product has an IPS display with a diagonal of 5 inches. Is it a lot or a little? Let's just say this: for a modern user, this is quite enough. The device will clearly appeal to those who are already quite tired of modern "shovel-like" smartphones. The screen resolution is 1280 by 720 pixels, that is, the display is fully compliant with the HD standard. It has a standard pixel density of 294 per inch for this resolution. This is a normal indicator. The declared contrast is 1000 to 1. But in fact, we have 677 to 1. This distinction between the declared characteristics and the real ones is quite normal for modern manufacturers. Not an exception and Meizu M3 S. Its characteristics, by the way, are not very different from those declared.

The rest of the screen features include decent brightness (400 cd per square meter). This brightness allows you to comfortably use the device even in direct sunlight. The image will still look great. Thanks to the IPS-matrix, the screen has very impressive viewing angles. The image begins to distort only with a decent tilt of the device. In addition, IPS displays are remarkably accurate in color reproduction. And do not fade over time as AMOLED panels. So there is nothing surprising in the fact that such a screen was chosen for installation in the Meizu M3 Mini smartphone. Now let's move on to the rest of the technical specifications.

CPU and RAM

Under the hood of the smartphone is an eight-core processor from MediaTek. It has a very high performance. This is due to the fact that the MT 6750 chip belongs to the new generation of products. In terms of power, it is comparable to those processors that are installed in modern flagships. Not surprisingly, nothing is impossible for the Meizu M3 S 32GB. The characteristics of this smartphone allow it to easily cope with the most difficult games and applications. As for the device’s RAM, there are two modifications - with 2 and 3 gigabytes of RAM. Moreover, the three-gigabyte version costs almost the same as the version with 2 "gigs". If possible, it is better to purchase a device with more memory, so it will stay relevant longer. As for the memory available to the user, there are also two options. There are models with 16 and 32 gigabytes of internal memory. Of course, it is better to take more. Meizu, which we are analyzing here, may well argue even with an iPhone.

Graphics chip and other components

As a graphic chip, the Mali T860-MP2 is used. This chipset easily copes with high-definition video and has support for OpenGL and DirectX. This allows you to provide incredible graphics performance in modern mobile games. A distinctive feature of this device is the support of the latest generation LTE communication standard. But that is not all. The device is equipped with a Wi-Fi transmitter with a broadcast frequency of 5 gigahertz. And this is already not bad. Other features include a lightning fast fingerprint scanner, the latest generation Bluetooth transmitter, a wide variety of sensors and a capacious 3020 mAh battery. The latter helps the smartphone to easily work for two days on a single charge. These are the main parameters of the screen, by the way, pretty good. They raise this smartphone to a completely different level. And now let's move on to the camera of the device.

Camera (main)

As the main camera, a fast 13-megapixel module is used. A design feature of the camera is an optical system of five lenses. The camera has phase detection autofocus and a two-color LED flash. By the way, it is the phase autofocus that allows the camera to focus very quickly even in low light conditions. In the afternoon, the shots are just superb. and if you turn on the HDR mode, then in general you get works of art. But at night, the camera is clearly missing something. Extraneous noise is visible to the naked eye. And the photos are somewhat blurry. Night shooting is clearly too tough for Meizu M3 Mini. Recall of the owners, however, praise the camera. By the way, the device can write Full HD video in MP4 format. And that is not all. There is even a very popular recording option called Slow Mo - Slow Motion. This is a new option in Meizu M3 S. Features and reviews are full of laudatory remarks.

Camera (front)

Now let's move on to the characteristics of the front camera of the device. Unlike other manufacturers, Meizu is serious about front cameras. Even this module has 5 megapixels and a complex optical system of 4 lenses. This camera is also fast and wide-angle. Photos are high quality and sharp. By the way, the front camera also knows how to write Full HD video. Of course, there is no practical benefit from this, but such a module is just perfect for video communication. Selfie lovers will also be delighted. Meizu M3 Mini, the technical specifications and reviews that we are analyzing here, is a completely modern device that will appeal to the vast majority of users. That was the calculation of the manufacturer.

Firmware and software platform

As an operating system, this smartphone uses "Android" version 5.1 with a proprietary Flyme shell from Meizu. Many categorically do not like the branded shell, but we must admit that it is made simply and with taste. She somehow diversifies the “naked” “Android”. But what to do for those who strongly dislike this in the Meizu M3 Mini? Firmware on w3bsit3-dns.com (a popular forum on mobile gadgets) can somewhat fix the situation. There are very interesting “custom” options without Flyme. I must say that the fifth “Android” works under the proprietary shell quite quickly and “buggy”. Although this is probably the merit of the hardware platform of the smartphone. But everything looks very beautiful, this can not be taken away. The most important thing is that the company regularly updates the firmware and patches old holes, corrects flaws. Not all manufacturers can boast of such product support.

As for pre-installed applications, there is almost no unnecessary junk in the version of the gadget with international firmware. But if you are a “happy” owner of the Chinese version, then be prepared that your phone will have a lot of useless Chinese “slag” that cannot be removed. By the way, Google Play and all other familiar services are absent in such devices. What do the owners of the Chinese Meizu M3 Mini do? Firmware on w3bsit3-dns.com, as a rule, is completely Russified, devoid of Chinese applications and has all the necessary services from Google. You just need to install it. But how to do it painlessly is a completely different question. In any case, gadgets from Meizu are easily amenable to firmware and various modifications. So problems with this should definitely not arise. The main thing is to do everything according to the instructions.

There are smartphones that you pick up and immediately want yourself the same despite the price and specifications. He is charming and at the same time very smart, and everything else does not matter. This is how we can characterize the hero of our review today - Meizu m3 s.

Usually buying an ultra-budget, you do not expect to get a nice device, and even more so from metal with excellent assembly. But Meizu m 3 s could. this is to offer It has external flagship standard data:

  • metal that pleasantly cools the hand;
  • 2.5D Xensation Cover, which creates a sense of integrity of the device.

Let's go over the location of the main elements. On the right side is the volume rocker and the power button. On the bottom panel is a speaker, a high-quality microphone and a charging connector. At the top there is only a single headphone jack 3.5 mm. If we talk about sound, then the sound is in the headphones, then the external speaker feels slightly above average.

On the left is a tray where you can install either two nano SIM cards, or one SIM card and a memory card. The choice here is yours.

The front panel is covered with 2.5 D glass. In general, it looks good, but the metal frame still protrudes slightly. Above the five-inch display with HD resolution are:

  • front-camera;
  • good conversational speaker;
  • proximity and light sensors;
  • an event indicator that glows in blue and white.

Under the display there is a physical button, in which a good fingerprint scanner is hidden.

The back panel is metal, but at the same time it has plastic inserts on the top and bottom that perfectly harmonize with it in color. The back is:

  • camera;
  • two-tone flash;
  • meizu logo.

In the hand Meizu m3 s feels very nice, because the smartphone fits comfortably in the palm of your hand.

Display

As we mentioned earlier, there is a 5-inch display with an IPS matrix, which is very insidious. If you look at right angles to bright colors, then everything is fine, but if you tilt the screen, then the inversion of colors is noticeable. This is especially clearly seen in the dark areas of the image, where the black turns into blue, then gray, then white.

The screen resolution is 1280 * 720 pixels, that is, the HD format. The display supports 10 one-time touches.

The declared brightness of 380 cd / sq. m. In the bright sun it is difficult to see something, but at night with a minimum brightness I do not want to make the backlight smaller. The display has an oleophobic coating, which, when touched, feels very nice. If fingerprints remain, it is very easy to wipe them off.

The screen looks decent for a smartphone at a cost of about 10 thousand rubles, despite even some color inversion at extreme angles.

Performance and autonomy

An iron from the MTK 6750 processor and a Mali-T860 video accelerator are installed here. In performance tests, the state employee showed:

  • AnTuTu - 38 056 points;
  • Epic Citadel on ultra settings - 50.4 fps;
  • 3DMark showed 9143.

Meizu m3s comes in two versions:

  • 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal;
  • 3 GB of operational and 32 GB of internal.

But the entire volume will not be available to the user. For example, if you take the 16 GB version, then the user can fill in only 10. Everything else goes to system files. In any case, you can expand the built-in memory using a card, but to the detriment of one SIM card.

With games, the gadget, in general, copes quite well. The phone is running Android 5.1, which makes it possible to split the screen into two parts to display two applications at the same time. Unfortunately, the choice of applications that can be displayed on the second screen is quite limited.

Inside the Meizu m3s, a 3000 mAh battery is installed. A full charge of the battery with enough active use is enough for 1-2 business days. The autonomy here is in order, especially considering that the smartphone has a slim, pretty body.

Camera

Meizu m3 s has two camera modules installed: the main one is 13 megapixels and the front one is 5 megapixels. In the afternoon, the smartphone takes good pictures, but at night the problems begin. The camera here is not perfect, but for its price, in principle, nothing at all. You should not find fault. But there is everything you need and even a little more.

According to the settings, you can set:

  • level;
  • grid;
  • manual exposure metering;
  • time;
  • location

Of course, there is also a full manual mode, where you can change:

  • shutter speed;
  • contrast;
  • focus;
  • exposure;
  • saturation;
  • white balance, etc.

For those who like to take pictures in manual mode, the Meizu m3 s will be a godsend.

Camera review and photo examples can be seen in the video below

Summary

Summing up, I want to put a few pluses on the phone for:

  1. Appearance.
  2. Autonomy. For a 3000 mAh battery, the smartphone works for quite some time.
  3. Camera.

The cons include:

  1. Bug with a green screen in the camera.
  2. A fingerprint scanner in which you need to press a button, and not apply a finger to unlock the smartphone.
  3. The firmware is still not international, but universal and even rather Chinese.

Otherwise, I really like Meizu m3 s, even more than Redmi 3. But it's up to you to decide whether or not to buy it.

Video

Meizu M3 Max is a fast and effective smartphone with a massive screen. The device relates to mobile devices of the middle price segment. The official presentation of the gadget took place in September 2016.

Appearance and ergonomics

The high-quality aluminum housing of the Meizu M3 Max has a smooth surface thanks to modern metal processing technologies. Its design is monolithic, which ensures perfect assembly. There are polished chamfers that separate the back cover from the front. Straight lines with some curves predominate here. In front is a protective 2.5D glass covering the entire space. Under the display, you can find the mTouch 2.1 navigation button with a touch fingerprint scanner. At the bottom there are AUX and micro USB connectors, as well as a microphone and an external speaker. But on the back panel everything is pretty standard - a camera peephole, a double flash and a corporate logo. The device got a powerful 4100 mAh battery, the charge of which is easily enough for the whole day of active use. There is also a mCharge function for safe and fast charging. Available colors: gray, gold, black and pink. Dimensions: height - 163.4 mm, thickness - 7.9 mm, width - 81.6 mm, weight - 189 g.

Display

Model M3 Max is equipped with a large 6-inch IPS-screen, the resolution of which is 1920 by 1080 pixels. This display is implemented using OGS technology, which implies the absence of an air gap for the best image quality. The screen supports up to 10 simultaneous touches. As for viewing angles, they are here as wide as possible. The user will be pleased with high contrast ratios, and the color temperature is close to the reference values. It is worth highlighting and high-quality oleophobic coating. Also, the extended brightness range does not fail.

Iron and performance

M3 Max got 64 GB of internal memory, as well as 3 GB of RAM LPDDR3. The device supports memory cards up to 128 GB without problems. Inside is a pretty nimble processor with eight MediaTek Helio P10 cores. This chip is capable of operating at a maximum frequency of 1800 MHz for itself. The graphics are actively engaged in the 3D accelerator Mali-T860. The Android 6.0 operating system is the main platform, which is significantly modified using the Flyme OS shell. If we consider the level of performance, then in the AnTuTu test the gadget gains more than 50,000 points, which corresponds to the performance of middle-class models. This is a great option for everyday tasks. But in demanding games, you have to sacrifice picture quality for extra frames per second.

Communication and sound

The Meizu M3 Max has a dedicated DAC, which does a good job of its duties. The sound is tuned very well, it's nice to listen to music with good headphones. The volume margin is not the smallest, but not the largest. The multimedia speaker is quite voiced. The device supports all domestic LTE frequencies. You can install two SIM cards here.

Meizu M3 Max has a main 13-megapixel camera with an aperture of F / 2.2 and dual flash. There is a large set of modes. Autofocus is very fast, which makes it possible to instantly take pictures. In low light conditions annoying noises appear, but in daylight, photographs differ in natural color reproduction and good detail. The device is equipped with a front 5-megapixel camera with an aperture of F / 2.0. When shooting self-portraits, Beauty features technology helps a lot.
